they've called 3 times in the last hour. Why would they call a Cdn # to ask about US political views? I think it's obvious they are just going down a list of #'s from all over Canada & the States.
They called again on 2nd line; guess I can expect them to go through all our numbers today!! I did the same thing as before - answered and didn't speak. I think next time I'll pick up, let them go thru their spiel, and tell them they're morons, do they really think anybody's falling for their crap anymore?!!
Same number called several time, I answered twice and no one talked which brought me here. I believe the are either validating your number for re-sale to telemarketers or trying to access your voice mail center. I had this happened within my company where after office hours, they were able to crack our 4 digit passcode to access voice mail system and once they were successful, they were able to take access and control our land lines; in approx. 8hrs they ramp up long distance charges to above $40,000 which we were able to settle with Primus (our phone provider at the time) for approx $12,000 + Tax which still really sucks; we have since implemented 8 digit pass codes for everyone's office voice mail which was also recommended by our new phone line provider and not as easy to crack or access.
Also, never press a number if asked (in most case they give option to press 9 or 1 to have your number removed from their calling list); just hang up. Call your provider to have this 971 208-9963 or 971 208-9960 and other unwanted numbers blocked.
