If you have an answering machine, you can outfox these predators. Record Special Information Tones (see the attached url to hear them) at the beginning of your outgoing message. This tells anyone using an autodialer that the number is out of service. A real person won't care, but then they have to listen to you tell them off. I've used these tones for the past few years and the number of telemarketing calls has dropped. I sincerely hope it helps other people to avoid these pests.
Same number, no message, I'm in Toronto. I guess they just like to chain dial. I don't answer unidentified numbers. I reported it to Primus Canada as a telemarketer, and they'll block it next time.
Got a phone call about 15 min. ago from this number. It started as an autodialed three question political survey and upon completion I would "win" a free trip in the Bahamas. Of course, port fees and taxes would have to be paid by me. I played along and was transferred to a Caribbean Cruise operator by the name of Nick who had to check and see if there were still cruises available to be "given" away. I'm not stupid. I hung up on Nick because I got tired of my chain being yanked and googled the "free" cruise to see what complaints there were about this number. If you're interested in paying more than what the cruise is worth and spending time at a two hour high pressure time share sales meeting, then this is the deal for you. Goofs.
Very irritating. They'be called many times but i don't answer since the name isn't listed. I figure if they think I wouldn't answer if I DID know, they're probably right As per uje, no message was left, so thx to those who submitted complaints here, confirming my suspicion that it was a solicitor.
