Who called from 9712179506

Called me at 11:42 am today 9/10/2012.

Recording talking about cheap dental insurance.  

I hate people.

i never answer this... they call about once or twice per week.  Does anyone know if dialing "9" to be removed from the list actually works?

Dialing '9' to be removed from their call list DOES NOT WORK.  It's a ploy they use to determine if there is an actual, live person on the end of your line.  Pressing any key during their call will result in your getting many more calls, not only from this caller but also from the other scammers to whom they will sell your phone number.  The best advice is to screen calls based on CallerID - if you don't know who is calling, let them leave a voice message, but never give them any information, including pressing any keys.

This looks like a fairly new telephone scam, since the comments here on this caller only began on September 5, 2012.

They called my cell phone that belongs to a state government agency today.

I doubt they are selling anything other than a chance to have your money or identity stolen.

If you need dental insurance, do your own research to find a reputable company.  Don't ever do business with strangers on a phone call.

Called my mobile a few minutes ago; did not recognize # so I let it roll to VM.  VM recorded a few seconds of their spiel, but their system must be smart enough to realize it has not reached a live person, because it hung up.
