We don't even have credit cards. When it asked to push 1 to be transferred to a representative, I did so and simply said, "How do I get removed from your call list?"...they hung up. I called back and got a recording that said, "Thank you for calling back. To be removed from this list press 1 (again) which I did. I do not expect to stop receiving these calls. If anyone knows what I need to do to get them to stop, I'm all over it.
I agree with the above post by Jerry Brown, dated Nov. 18th 2011. Somebody needs to find this companys exact location in Gresham Oregon and take matters into their own hands. Maybe if something is done to the telemarketers/callers, it will send a clear message to other scam artists. I too have asked to be removed from their calling list, but to no avail. The last time they called me, I spoke with one of the agents, and could tell by his ghetto dialect he was, well, Uhhh-hmmmm.(black). Needless to say, I told him I'd like to catch his sorry Bl#@! azz in dark ally, then there would be one less uhhh-hmmm in the world! He went to threaten me back, but I hung up on him. Thasss right,uhh-hmmm, I shore(sure) 'nough did!
I have a message on my answering machine that states if I don't recognize the number, I'm not picking up unless they leave a message. Many times the scammer, after a couple of attempts, stops calling! There is no sense in answering any calls that you don't know or if you accidently pick up, talking to a scammer! Personally, I would be concerned about them tracing the call or they would get some kind of info they could use against me. Also, I would NOT ever call the number back.
Recorded message about credit-card debt, calls EVERY DAY for the past week or so, held to speak to a rep and when I said I had "Do Not Call" number and wanted them to stop calling me, the rep called me "a little [***]." Seriously.
I filed a complaint with the Do Not Call people, but I doubt it does any good.
I have Qwest and they offer (for a fee, of course) a call rejection service. If you have Qwest, you dial 1-888-your area code-8052 and follow the instructions from there. I think they allow 25 numbers to be on the call rejection service.
That being said, I do NOT like having to pay my phone company to block these annoying calls.
