I received a call from 971-277-8004 around 10:20am on a weekday, while at work. I did not answer the call. A couple minutes later, I had voicemail. It was a woman's voice, very friendly and conversational. Intonation sounded young / uneducated. "Hey guys! This is Sarah Ellis here. Hey, we spoke on the phone last week about possibly trying to lower your interest rates on your credit cards...." I know for a fact that I did not have any conversations with any banks or financial services last week. She rambled on for a bit, then left her phone number where I could call her back: 1-877-723-1419.
It is worth noting that I just got a new iphone 4s from Verizon a couple weeks ago. Since that time, I have been receiving calls from a debt collection company, "ER Solutions," based out of Renton, WA. "ER Solutions" calls me 3-10 times a day, and sometimes from different numbers. A google search for these numbers numbers reveals that ER Solutions is a debt collection agency for Verizon. This is bogus. I had a bad experience with Verizon in the past and I know that they are RUTHLESS. So this time, I refused to leave the Verizon store without setting up automatic billpay online. I have not missed any payments because I haven't even received my first bill yet!!!! Verizon almost certainly gave out my number to this bogus company. I have tried to ignore/not pick up every call. I may have fat-fingered the touchscreen once and accidentally "picked up" the phone. I'm sure I ended the call immediately and didn't talk to anyone... but ER Solutions probably nabbed me as an active line and started selling the number to other companies, such as this Sarah Ellis.
