Caller ID said Rhododendron OR. No voice response when I answered. Totally agree with the poster who wished politicians would add this daily nuisance to their talking points.
Looks like the scumbags took Labor Day off, and now they're back at it, I got two calls today (Tuesday 2102-09-04), one the same as last Friday, and another that I have seen the caller ID name (FINANCIAL CTR) on three other numbers before, 503-457-1792, 206-496-0931 and 360-474-3986:
971-333-8934 @ 2012-09-04 10:13am - FINANCIAL CTR (new number, familiar caller ID name)
206-496-0411 @ 2012-09-04 11:01am - DE SERV COM (same as Friday)
I suspect these are part of the same scam organization that has been calling me constantly from a variety of numbers for over five months now (perhaps the ones referenced in the links posted by "Kwitcherbellyakin" and "Reply" above). This # is associated with an active criminal organization. Identity theft specialists. DO NOT PICK UP IF THEY CALL. Block the # if you can. Forget the Do Not Call List, it is just as bogus.
I have forwarded my incoming calls to my mobile phone and I have started a new contact called DO NOT ANSWER. Every time I get one of these calls I check this service and when I see comments like these I "add the caller to an existing contact" and select DO NOT ANSWER. I made the ringtone hideous so I know, from the other room, that I need not bother answering the call.
My phone doesn't block phone numbers. Think I will either NOT answer the call or answer the call and sit the phone on the counter. Maybe that will take at least one call they make longer than necessary.
