Same old scam, I screw with them and tell them I have a commodore 64. That's of course lost on them, but I enjoy laughing at them.
The call takes a second to actually connect, because though it say's texas it's probablybeing spoofed, likely from India
So here's the truth: Microsoft and the IRS will NEVER call you.
Here's what you can do:
Forget about the the do not call list it's a joke, seriously. Don't waste your time.
Forget about being asked to be "removed" by the caller, they won't.
Never pick up out of state calls you don't recognize or that don't have a actual name, let them go to voicemail, if they leave a message than it's legit, and you can call back. If they don't check the number on the great 800 notes website. Then Block them (see below)
Armed with your new knowledge:
1. Simply block the number with your cell phone, most will do that.
2. Even better: get a google voice number and route your cell phone through it. Google is great at catching spam, and if they don't, you simply block the number(s) and it's done.
Just got a call at 9:30 pm. Indian man. I asked him how is he doing business and making calls after 9 pm. I told him if he were in the US them he would know when to call. After I said I was reporting him he hung up. Lol. So typical.
