I keep getting this phone number 972-372-1105. Someone from this number keeps calling my cell phone. I don't know anyone at this number. How do i get this person to stop calling?
After reading ScottMs post it makes sense...sort of. I just got out of the SC dept of corrections last year, and the way it worked, at least while I was in, was the inmate had to mail a paper request form to those he/she wanted to collect call. Only after the form was mailed back to SCDC by person the convict wanted to call, thus approving their number, would the con be allowed to dial that number. I only had a couple approved #'s while i was locked up... Mom, Dad, Wife, etc. At least while I was locked up, inmates weren't allowed to just call random numbers. The phone would only let you dial YOUR approved numbers.
On top of that, I've got an out of state cell phone #, so how did they even think to call a number from 9 states away?
I agree with everyone's paranoia... It's most likely inmates running a scam. They need to find an honest hustle, like doing tattoos or selling cigarettes... LOL

Before you respond to their calls even if it from family or friends you research what you're getting yourself into. Their track record for customer abuse is horrible. Google "Global Tel Link + complaints" at the horror stories. Prime example is putting $25.00 on your credit card for supposively 5 to 7 five minute collect calls from an inmate and get only one ten minute call for your twenty five dollars to be charged off.
Oh and once the Inmate makes a collect call to you, it won't let you accept the call, it tells you to set up a credit card account first and if you don't accept the call or aren't there to pickup; evidentally it rolls over to a computerized recall system harassing you to death to setup an account. They call your prepaid cell phone number, prepared to get screwed in losing time. And computerized calls in this State are illegal to begin with.

I got rwo calls from this number 10:15 & 10:27 on sat. 9/15/12. Found out it is coming from a Greensberg prison S.C. or Tx. I know no one in prison. My nephew is a with state prosicutors office,will report it to them also.
we do know people in prison,its not them ---------comes up max-security ! Had my phone number for 25 years.Maybe its new numbers some of you have and Inmate trying to call family that changed their number so they won,t have to feel guilty not allowing call go through LOL Shame--------put inmates to WORK !
I'm receiving two to three calls a day I would like to know who this person is what's his name and what he want from me and how did he get my number because I don't recognize this number at all.
