started as the 972 number, immediately followed by an "unvailable" both the high pitched squeal. after calling the number back and then calling an 1-877-805-9074 and reporting it, its down to just two "unvailable" calls in a row, seems to be every 3 hours.
just like all the blogs I read, I too am receiving harrassing calls from 1-972-372-1723 each day. The number I called 877-805-9074 and I spoke with an ONstar Customer Care rep who would not give me a name or ID number but did give me a Case # 34501779. The rep assured me that the calls should stop within 24 hours. If they do not I will call the number back and escalate to a manager.

I was called by OnStar four times last week. Caller ID said "unknown number."
I don't answer such phone calls, so a voice mail was left, saying that I should activate my blue OnStar button in my car to get an explanation of why they called, plus they would be sending me a letter telling me what it was all about.
Well, a couple of years ago I fired up OnStar, so they no longer mail things to me (I was getting too much advertising crap). I also don't get my renewal notice, so I have to call them every year to find out how much, etc.
Well, they managed to cash my check (it cleared on July 31) and I had told them I was paying for a year of service from Aug. 1, 2009 to July 31, 2010.
I assumed that was why they were calling, but after reading these posts, I wonder if now they're trying to get me to give them even more money.
I've also told them that if anyone calls me via the OnStar system in my car and an accident occurs or if someone using OnStar in their car hits me, I will sue their panties off. (I was in a bad car crash years ago, caused by the other driver not paying attention to the road.)
I got a call from this number a little while ago, with caller ID saying it was "OnStar." Of course I didn't answer, but if they continue to call, as they have with other posters, I'm going to fire them up again.
