People, it does no good to announce that you are on the do-not-call list. Nearly everybody in the country is on the list by now. Here's the thing: Only legitimate businesses obey the do-not-call list. The people that call you regardless of the list are already con men and criminals so they don't give a patootie about the list.
Here's what you can do: Never, ever, ever, answer a call from a number that you don't recognize. If it's a legitimate call from a friend or relative or company that you do business with, they will leave a message and you can call them back. If nobody ever answered these robo-dial calls, the tricksters would be out of business in short order.
Just just got a call from that number. Area code is the same as mine in the DFW area. I answered Hello, no reply and after about 5 seconds later I hear an electronic "Good By" and the call is ended on their end. I had the same exact call around this time last night but that number was 972-438-4636. I have reported that number also. I have now blocked both those numbers, but I know the same people will call again using a different number. I will now just not answer any call that comes in unavailable. If someone now calls with "unavailable" I am not answering it. If it is important, they will leave a message. Lesson learned!!
Has been calling non-stop for months to inspect my roof. I asked for the company name and address, he said Mr. Shingle Roofing, 3926 FM 455, Plano, TX. That address is in Sanger and is an RV installation. He said they were registered with the BBB; no, they're not. This is how these kind of people gain access to homeowners' property.
