Received a call from "Merchant Services" (1-972-852-0898) saying they needed to correct an over billing on our account. She asked me to pull a monthly statement from the previous month and divide the total charges and fees by the total sales. After telling her the percentage I got, she said she needed me to fax her a copy of the statement addressed to her attention (Barbara Ray) at 1-855-924-2774 (Fax) I asked why she needed that, if she works for our processor she should have it. She hung up. I realized this couldn't be legitimate and immediately put the number into google. Be very careful and don't give account information out to anyone!
Called about merchant account. Was really aggressive, would not ID company calling from or who they represent. Called twice. Hung up when asked who they represent on the second call. We get many scummy credit card processor merchant account calls. We have a processor through an association that we are happy with and are extremely uninterested in this kind of call. going on our block list.
Today I get a call and caller ID displayed : 972-852-0898 from Dallas, TX ...I did not answer the call. The voicemail message said " Hi this is Kara with Merchant Services, I'm calling to speak with (me) about and an over bill on your merchant account and to get that submitted in for correction. If you could give me a call back at number 855-881-9367 my extention is 1405, thank you and Happy Easter"
I know this is not my credit card processor and If any of my customers had an issue they would come to me first to try and have me fix the over billing.
Just a word of warning to anyone else with doubts....don't talk or call them back!

The lady indicates that she is from Merchant Services and would like to talk to someone in charge of the credit card and that there has been an over billing. I asked her for her specific company name and she responded Merchant Services. When I repeated the question again and indicated that Merchant Services was not good enough, she hung up without a reply.
