Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

I received a strange call 3 days ago and this is what the message said: "My name is Donna Ross, and I'm contacting you in reference to a case that I have pending here in our office in this (She said my name here), please return the call to me as soon as you get this message. My number is 972 area code 471 9179. Please give me a call back referring to pending case number xxxx xxxx. Thanks. Have a good day." She did not mention a company or entity that she is with, and she had my first name. I do not have any pending cases, and I have never heard of her before. I did a reverse search to see what the phone number originated from and found this website. Apparently she has called other people also. Sounds like a scam or something.

This lady called my phone in reference on a case and an investigation. They literally harassed me on some situation that apparently has nothing to do with me and apparently some other person. This lady scarred my niece while she was sitting my kids and then starts questioning about a residency. Now my niece got paranoid and called me to call her back. So I decided to call this dumb witted person and she starts rambling about my name being involved in a vehicle I don't own and never owned not have affiliations with. So I'm telling this witch to stop calling my phone and harassing me on some dumb level and to leave me alone. I told her to stop soliciting me and she starts yelling. One more call and I will get authorities involved to report her harassing me.
The number appears from JPA based out of Garland, Texas though a different number is listed on their website.

Was unable to locate a physical address or contact phone number. I could only find the information listed above. The number that is calling in this thread is showing to be based out of
Lewisville, Texas though no address is listed. Could not determine the type of phone this is such as a landline phone.
From these posts they are allegedly operating outside of the FDCPA guidelines.
Called me at 7:30pm on a Friday (4th of July weekend) and didn't leave a message. I called the number back and the recording said it was a business opportunity. It also said "press 2 to opt out". I did and the recording advised I would be removed in 24-48 hrs. We'll see how that works out. I'm blocking the number anyway.
