Got a call from Kim with TOP. The number was 972 503-0555. I recently moved to Dallas and have been on several interviews with legit companies and with a good recruiter in Dallas. Anyhow, Kim seemed a little vague about what they did. I asked if there were specific industries that they specialize in. Her response was that they work with over 200 industries! I smelled a rat.
I have to say that it is a clever name, google "top Dallas recruiting firm" or any of the variants and you will be inundated with articles and reviews of every recruiter in the market. However, TOP is nowhere to be found. Did a quick check of her email address,
[email protected] and went to the site. I am surprised that anyone really falls for this. It is so vague that it is hard to take it seriously.
She sent me an email confirming our meeting. It was signed Kim H. and did not list the name of the "executive" I was to meet. I replied to dear Ms. H. and asked for more information about the firm and the name of the person I was to meet. At this point I'm just curious about how they continue the game. She replied with another vague explanation of their services and gave me the name of Larry Spradling. The assistant is now Kim Holleyhead.
I might go to the meeting just to get more information and post it as a warning to others. This is a despicable practice. Scamming job seekers and the unemployed is about as low as it gets. Luckily, I am nowhere near desperate for money, but it is a shame that people may fall for this. Kim or kimberly Holleyhead and Larry Spradling should be ashamed of themselves for making a living by taking from the unemployed the unemployed.
