He was a foreigner wanting to use a cc to purchase 500$ item yet he asked to me to charge him 3500$ and for me to send him the 3k. Seems oblivious it's not his cc and he's trying to launder the cc money.
Got a text asking if my business excepted CC and if we did carpet cleaning or house cleaning. He identified himself by saying his name was "Garfield Mayer by name". We do own a cleaning business so I started texting this guy questions and it automatically sounded weird. Nothing was adding up and the number seemed odd too so figured I would look it up before calling this idiot. Thanks for the previous remarks....it saved me time.
So glad we looked this name and number up. Got a text asking if we did a particular type of job. The text itself was worded oddly. I won't be responding.
Got a text 9:15 pm and it seemed strange. So I decided to check on it. These posts are very helpful, especially when the name being used is the same, Garfield Mayer. What a waste!
I just got a text from this guy saying he had lung cancer and couldn't talk but wanted all kinds of landscaping services. He goes by "Garfield Mayer by name" based on what everybody else is saying it's a total scam
You would be 100% right also. These things tend to be money scams, writing & sending fakeroo checks that are over written on the price and would you please pay this person the excess for shipping etc. Its like a craigs list scam, they always have a excuse to not actually talk to you, text only!
Oh, and lung cancer.. thats a pretty lame excuse not to speak. Its little things like that comment that tip the hat and give em away!
