This number have been calling me for the last 6 months, everyday and some twice a day. I have talked to them 4 times telling them, I am not the person you are trying to reach. The lady that answers the phone, I explained this to her. She said we will continue to call and she was very ugly on the phone. I said you have the wrong number and person, they are asking for a Nina Silverman. What can I do to stop someone's else debt collections phone calls. They continue to call me . This number has actually been calling me every morning for a month now, so I came here to look at the reports, then finally answered this morning. I had to follow multiple prompts to speak to an "arbitrator" who was working on my case. She had info regarding a payday loan I had taken out in 2012 that had bounced off the bank account that I had closed. She went through the whole list of "options" through which I could pay them, including the "hardship" option. All told, she wanted me to pay around $850 over the course of six months, "which would be much less than my actual debt of $2500." I know this is bogus because I made arrangements to pay this debt months ago myself from the lender that originated the loan, and I'm in the process of doing so now.
When I told her that I'd already made arrangements to pay this debt, she got belligerent and said "that's not possible, they've already filed to take you to court." She then demanded that I tell her why I'm refusing to pay this debt, that legally I have to provide a reason (really doubt that, but anyway). When I repeated that I would take care of it myself, she said "so I can officially document that you're refusing to pay this debt?" When I said yes and to go on and serve the papers, she said that an attorney would be calling me within the hour. It's been fifteen minutes so far and that hasn't happened yet (I really doubt that it will).
I live in Texas and the prefix of the phone number (972) 564-XXXX is actually the number assigned to the Dallas suburb of Forney, where I used to live. Imagine my surprise to come here and see someone posted their P.O. Box address from New York state. Unbelievable. I'll update as to whether I do or don't hear from an attorney or if these people keep calling. Huge thank you to this website and everyone who posted before, as you are the reason that I knew this was a fraud.
The attorney that would be calling me within the hour? Never called. But guess who did call this morning like nothing had ever happened? Yep, these idiots. I let it go to voicemail and they left the same message they always have. Unbelievable.
I've been getting calls recently from this company and I immediately became suspicious of them. They called my sister and my mother and told them they had be trying to contact me. Yet they never called me. They gave me the same bit about how they are going to turn the case of to the courts to prosecute for check fraud. Whoever they are they can't get nothing I don't have.
