I have been receiving texts from (972) 676-9645 and same here, they act like they know me, say things like "can i stop by?" etc. BUT, THE WEIRD PART IS....tthey have found a name in my contacts and they put that same name at the beginning of every text they send. I'm am blocking.
Damnit... I just replied to this dude (or chick, or stalker misc. whatever). I coulda swore I was calling back my friend (who's traveling at the moment), and realized I called this number back by mistake, I have NO clue who this is, but from all of your notes, it's a little unnerving, knowing I just left them a message. ...Luckily I didn't leave any information, under the assumption that I was calling another number...
...Damn.
(Well anyway, I'll update with a call recording if/when they call back, if I'm awake to answer it; I'll just save the audio from the app, create a YouTube video out of it and link it to this page like I do with telemarketers)... Check back in a few days at the most guys. I'll update with an interrogative video of the incoming call the moment they contact me again.
Never-mind, I solved the mystery on my end, apparently this is a Google Voice number, I think it's a trunk-number that replaces a regular phone number, that way if you're using any random phone, you can call this number, and it'll forward the call to the person it's assigned to, unfortunately I'm pretty sure these are leased for like 7 day periods of something similar to VPN IPs, (though I'm not positive), I do think they occasionally change, (if I'm right, than it just means this is a shell number that's assigned to a random number being called by a Google Voice number, and could vary from either place to place or over a course of time)... However, for me, I called it back and it was a friend of mine living in Maryland, so... Yeah, that's strange... I'm not entirely sure of all of the logistics of Google Voice trunk-numbers...
