I received a phone call from 972 702 2955 at 1:56 PM today. A man left a message that said: Hello, I am Michael Williamson working on a special project that I might need your assistance. Please call 972-702-2955. Have a blessed day.
I don't answer phone calls from numbers I don't recognize.
Caller said he needed help but nothing else. Seems suspicious that someone would call needing help but wouldn't say what its about which makes me think it's illegal and a scam. Obviously leaving a message would be a recording that could be used in court if the person ever gets caught, so they're smart and tricky thats for sure.
This phone number is from a telemarketing firm going under the name of Cunningham & Moore, C&M or maybe Life Adviser. They are located at 13601 Preston Rd., Dallas. They solicit donations for "White Rock Jaycees and the Shriners" under the guise of "helping children". I have not found any phone numbers, listings or information other than a single "logo" page web site for an organization called White Rock Jaycees. This same company also solicits donations for "Amvets" and others no doubt from various 972-702- phone numbers. Ironically, the Jaycees and Amvets have the same mailing address listed on their pledge/donation documents. I've confirmed that a typical split on donations gives the telemarketer 80% (yes that is 80%)of what is collected. Eighty cents of every dollar. They're obviously very concerned about their causes - the poor children, the forgotten Vets. These people make the Wall Street guys look like do-gooders. What they do in the name of charity is despicable and just plain sleazy. While I allowed their "causes" to interfere with my better judgment, it will never happen again.
I just got the same type call advising me to return the call asap...no other information. I questioned him as to WHY he would not have left identifying info etc...he said there are several people in the office making calls...he did not answer with a company name..just his first name. etc etc etc.....very secretive...I gave him NOTHING...he wanted a business donation..then asked for a personal donation.
I just received a message on my direct work line from a lady named Jenny. She did not leave a reason for her message, just said to call her back at that number. I will not be doing so!
