They called my home phone and a woman saying her name was "Ms. Gamble" told me it was "very important" for me to call her concerning an "urgent matter" for which my number was given to them as a contact. While listening to her entire angry message she failed to ever say who she was actually calling for, the reason for her call or the company she was respresenting. I called the 888 number and left a message on their voicemail (the message stated they were a company called DNS though I do't know who that is) letting them know that not only did they need to get some damn manners, but if they were going to leave a message to mention who they were leaving it for and why. I guess we'll see if they call again.
This guy called me today form this number saying I owed $1,400 to a Presidents Health Club. I asked him when did this supposedly take place, he told me it was filed in 2000. I told him that if it took him 12 years to find me, then good luck trying to collect!
Called about an old payday loan, wanted to settle for $500 told a 1099C maybe write off, said that was fine, pretty nice but I don't deal with 3rd party collectors
I got a call from this number on my cell phone. My husband acutally answered the call though. Apparently they asked for me by name, said the company name was "Dynamic"(sp?) and refused to tell my husband what the call was in regards too. Glad I found this site. I can tell him my first thought was accurate. Just another spammer call!
Just got the same call from 972-865-4722. The lady said I owed money from some credit card I had 10 years ago. She was nice at first, but when I told her I wanted everything in writing (a physical copy mailed to me) she started to unravel. She was wanting my banking information to automatically draft payments or a lump sum at a considerable discount. I then asked her the name of the company she worked for and she said she already told me (which she did not). I eventually had to hang up on her, because she was starting to threaten me with supposed harsh IRS penalties,
Thankfully I Googled the number and ended up here to see it has happened to others. These agencies are really getting crafty with their attempts to extort money.
After some more researching, I found the name of the company, Dynamic Recovery Services, Inc.
They got me to answer with the local call number. It is a debt collector. They are a very aggressive debt collection agency. I hung up on him when he started getting angry.
