caller claimed to be calling from General Electric. Said records show I have my (unclear what she said) system for more than 3 years, right? When I asked what is a (I tried to repeat the garbled word) system, the caller hung up. From an earlier posting, maybe it was alarm system.
Trying to sell/upgrade home security system. They did have my address correct, which was a bit scary. I strung them along for a bit, even hung up on them. They called back!
I asked who she worked for, and she could not answer my question except with "General Electric." I told her she works for a crook and they are violating Federal Law. She continued her spiel until I called her out on the spoofed Caller ID, and then she hung up on me.
Received a phone call from this number today.
I did not answer the phone, and they did not leave a message on my answering machine.
My caller ID reads this phone number as "UNKNOWN NAME."
Everyone be cautious ... more than likely, this is a robocall attempt from telemarketing scammers.
Also, this is probably a fake phone number that they display in caller ID. They have "spoofed" this phone number, and are hiding their true phone number that they really used to call us.
TY for the info! Called my landline at 6:26PM. Called it back and was told it isn't a working number. Found info on 800Notes.com that suggests it is a scam.
