I got this call today.
The guy was from Pakistan. He said I owed back taxes. I know I dont. He said his name was Jim Faulkner. He hung up when I asked him more questions. I called back. A lady picked up, said her name was Lisa from IRS. Again Pakistani accent. When I asked where in Pakistan are they based. She hung up.
Received a call, left message to call back right away, said IRS is investigating. Caller has heavy East Asian accent and insists on getting additional information to continue investigation. This is a scam. Please note that IRS does not call but they send you official letter with information on how to address the issue or contact them either through Certified Mail with Return Receipt. AARP also advices not to entertain these SCAM calls.
Message left and to call them back right away. Officer Daniel O'Brien from IRS Department (I think, heavy accent). Difficult to understand parts of the message due to heavy accent.
Just received a call, didn't answer, caller had a heavy accent and left a voicemail stating my residence is under federal investigation. This is impossible and false. This is a scam. Do not give them your info.
Received a message as well. Heavy accent. Called back and was told that if I paid the back taxes of $1500 then he would stop the arrest warrant but I could not tell anyone about it. I asked him to send info so I could review with lawyer and accountant. He said but u can't tell anyone if you want this deal. Without the deal you would owe $30,000. I told him that would be illegal and that either this was a scam or he could send me the info. He said he would send and hung up quickly. He seemed confused by me not just hanging up or paying I guess. Haha...these people need to be arrested.
