I received this call. A very computerized and stilted strung together set of words in a digital female voice says,
"Hello? ... Hello? This is Anthem Blue Cross calling.. for.. <my name digitally strung together very slowly>. We're calling to share some important information about a new Anthem Blue Cross benefit that is part of your Anthem Blue Cross health plan. So, please call us back toll free at 1-855-842-9801. Again, the number is 1-855-842-9801. Thank you and have a good evening. Goodbye."
855? Really? I'm always leery of inbound calls using very antiquated stilted digital recordings to do their bidding. When the numbers and phrases are read back, it sounds like an inexpensive 1990s system throwing words together with no natural cadence. If this truly is Anthem, wake up. You need to get a more natural system that doesn't appear like someone prying for information. Better, have a real person leave voicemail on why you're really calling. Of course, this could also be social engineering by a fraud company... so I'd be extremely cautious calling this number back. Too risky to call back, caller blocked. Has Anthem never heard of email?
