My caller id says TEXAS. I've had calls from this same area. I called a friend of mine who used to be a cop and said this is a scam and it has been around for a few years. He said crooks and evil people will try anything to steal from people. So don't fall for this scam and don't give them any information about yourself and don't give them a credit card number either. And please, don't give out a fake credit card number or social security number as you may be giving out a real number that belongs to someone. I do like I read that another person does. If they want a credit card number or social security number, I give them all zero's and if they want an address, I will give them the White House in Washington D.C. This way they know they've been conned/scammed right back and that they know not to call you anymore as they will not get anywhere.
Got a call from 979-871-2472 at 6:22pm central time today with TEXAS on my caller id. At 6:04pm I got a call from 936-206-9856 with TEXAS on my caller id. Sure sounds like they are very determined to try and get me to answer my phone so they can pull their crooked scam on me. They can use up all the numbers they have to call but they will still be blocked and I will never answer those crooked scum of the earth scammers! Thank goodness for call blocking machines. I just recently bought one and set it up....awesome! Sure wish I had bought one sooner. They have to go through listening to a little speech that tells them how they can ring through but that doesn't mean I will answer, which I won't....but since I know they are scum of the earth scammers and thieves, they are permanently blocked. I do believe these 2 numbers that both say TEXAS on them and called me within 18 minutes apart, are from the same person who has multiply numbers to call from. They may be calling from the same number each time and may just be listing a spoofed number each time. Just because we see a phone number on the caller id, that doesn't mean that's where it's calling from. The call may just as well be coming from overseas.
But, they can call and call and call but my call blocker has the capacity of a 9,999 numbers to put on a good list or bad list combined. I have all my relatives, friends and companies that need to be put on my good list listed and all the rest are put on the bad list. I know when a call comes in and if they are not allowed to call me, it will only ring once just to activate the call blocker.
