Just received a call from 984-445-8511. A woman with a very strong Indian accent said she was calling about a problem with our computers. That she was with Windows and they were receiving error reports from our computer. If I could go to my computer and log in she would be able to help correct the problem. I told her I was busy right now and if she would give me her number I would give her a call right back. She said they couldn't give out their number. I said Thank You and hung up.
These people that call about the windows computer issue need to get a life, they called here at least 6 times that we counted and I always mess with them for a bit, like; oh my, oh no, really, what should I do??, then I say this is a freaking scam, you people are idiots,go freaking scam someone in your own country!!!
Phone rang before I was awake this morning. When I answered, there was nobody on the line, just a lot of static that eventually disconnected. Caller ID read 984-445-8511 NOT_AVAILABLE and when I tried to call back, I got the recording, :We're sorry. We cannot complete your call as dialed...."
This is a spoofed number. Go to http://www.localcallingguide.com and click on the right side where it says "search area code/prefix." (The word "search" is in white letters on a blue background. Don't click on it -- click instead on the words "area code/prefix.")
A box will then appear in the main column of the web site entitled "Area code/prefix search." There are only two fields that need to be filled in inside this box. The first is labeled "NPA." Enter the area code in that field. The second is labeled "NXX." Place the three numbers after the area code here. Leave the rest of the fields blank, and click on the "submit" button inside the box.
You will get a blank list, which indicates that there are NO phone numbers yet issued that start with 984-445 in the United States.
