these people call daily they want access to your computer I am sure they are hackers. I tell them I have to turn computer on then to please hold then I put the phone down and go about my business til I hear that they have hung up. dont let them get into your computer. whats funny is they have done this as many as 4 times in a row, If I am keeping this guy busy he is not calling someone else
This scam has been around a LONG time, and is pretty annoying. Every few weeks they change out the spoofed call numbers, and so they have to be re-blocked. These folks are criminal slime, who sometimes call VERY late at night.
I have received several of these calls purporting to be from Microsoft of Windows. The first time thanked her and said I would get of checked locally then hung IP. She called back immediately and said "Die in Jell you bloody [***]!". The last guy didn't seem to remember what to say. O have Jiang up on them; said. I would ask Tech support and sworn I don't have a computer. They are not just scammers they are stupid!
The caller id said Randy Holmes. When I answered he says in very broken English that there is an emergency with my computer. Well, I have heard of this scam before. I say "I don't have a computer" he keeps trying to repeat same emergency blah blah. I say again that I have no computer. I then say "is this the Indian tech support scam?" Silence...I repeat the question and I had him so flustered that he said "yes this is the Indian tech support scam". I laughed and told him he was an idiot and good luck with his scam.
I got this call today and call ID identified the person as Randy Holmes but since I didn't know the person or number I didn't answer. I love caller ID :)
