Person with an Indian accent said he was from Microsoft Windows Technical support. Then he said he was from an affiliate company. Then he said he was associated with Cyber Defender. The name that came up on the caller ID was Carol Warner who he said was the CEO of Cyber Defender. He said my computer was sending our error messages. He also stated he was in California but the number is in MI.He wanted to connect with my computer to fix the Koobface virus I am infected with. I asked him what my IP address was and he gave me a number. Then I asked him how I could look at my IP address. He told me to go online to a website and it would give it to me. I didn't but told him I did. Then I asked him to repeat the IP address and he said it would be different now because every time you go online it changes. Then he asked me what difference it made whether he knew my IP address or not. All he wanted to do was fix my computer. I told him I used US Tech support. He said their technicians couldn't fix this virus. Seems like a scam to me. I kept him on the phone for over an hour and really had a good time going around in circles. At least while he was talking to me he wasn't connecting with someone else.
