Wow...? so scary, just got a call from this number. While talking to Scammer, I Google the phone number and found this page, Thanks to all of you! Very fast and good way to alert people.
Received a phone called claiming I owe IRS tax. It past the due time so I can not pay IRS directly.
The guy has heavy accent. His English is hard to understand. Then I check this website. Thank you for the help.
I am an EA, and one of my clients called me after he had received a message from 'Brian' at this number about back taxes. I had him call back and not give any personal info, but to request a copy of the IRS Notice. 'Brian told him they were sending the Sheriff out with an arrest warrant. I later called the number and the heavy accent answered 'Investigation Division'. I asked for his name and Employee ID (which he would not give) and then told him that they were scammers and the IRS does not send out the Sheriff, and that I had reported his number - he hung up quickly....
