Correction - the senior officer's name given was Danny Morrison.

I called number back a second time for [***] and giggles and this time I spoke to a man by the name of Danny who informed me that I owe the IRS 12,545.71. I guess this guy is an overachiever and is really trying to get paid. I asked Danny how many people have you scammed and he told me that he had collected $96,000 today. He also for me that Americans are dumb [***]. He then went on to state that if I wanted to join his team that I could but I needed to send him $1000 first. This money would need to be sent to him via Western Union. Bottom line please be smart people. I have reported these creeps and pray that people don't fall prey to bring victimized by these people who clearly have so much disdain for the American people.
I did the same thing with some scammers several years ago. I played along with them until we got to the part where they sent me a credit card number. Told me to charge $10,000 to it, send them $5000 and I could keep the rest for my time. I then figured out by the first four digits that it was Mastercard. I called them and reported the card stolen. I then told the scammers that their luck had run out and to go screw themselves. They then proceeded to threaten me with death. My husband was very upset with me..... I just laughed. I told my husband that this was most likely some idiot sitting in an Internet Cafe in Nigeria with 1000 other scammers. Needless to say, the fact that I am alive to type this means they did not kill me.
Good for you. Just got the same call from 1-202-506-8501 and I was accused for Tax Fraud and owe them $6,248. Did scare me at first but then realized from my internet friends that this is fake. I called back several times and would not answer. Time for a drink to calm down after all this craziness.
They are calling me from this number & from 202 241 4918. Went to voice mail. Very difficult to understand accent, but pretty much the same spiel: urgent matter, special investigation, IRS. This is 2nd day of the attack.
They called claiming to be from the IRS. They asked me to press 1, so I did that then they hung up. Came to this site and found that multiple people have identified this as a scam. Thanks!
