Got the same call three days in a row. Same Card Member Services as Mel described. I pressed "1" to talk to someone with the intent of talking to someone to have my number removed from their calling list, as I have requested every time they have called in the past. When I got someone on the phone they asked if I was interested in lowering my credit card rates and I told them, "No, I want to speak to your supervisor." The person said "Ok, thank you" and hung up.
I have gotten a couple calls in the last day or two from this number and didn't answer. ( I screen my calls). No messages have been left and when I try to call back it says the voice mail box has not been setup. After getting annoyed of my cell phone ringing while I am at work I finally plugged the number in here to see what it was. I have no idea why they would be calling me. I don't have any credit cards and don't plan to get one. I filed a claim with my state attorney generals office and also with the FCC because I am on the DO NOT CALL registry.
The call came in listed as "Cell phone, CT." I Googled it and found these reports. I very much appreciate sites like this one. I recently discovered that my phone (Panasonic) has a "call block" feature. Needless to say, I have blocked this number.
I had a call from this number while I was gone at approx. 2pm central. They did not leave a message, which leads me to believe that they may be ANOTHER of these "we can help with your C.C. bills" people as most of the time I get a message on my machine from them. One of them, when I answered the call, said I was STUPID for not using their services. I am also on the no call list, and the cell phone no call list, it seems that they are getting away with calling your home phone with a cell #, what a scam. If I thought that there was a chance in h*** that I could get them in court, AND collect when I win, it would be worth my time. These people are the scum of the earth, and I understand they are trying to make a living by ripping off people, and if they had a shred of common decency they would get an honest telemarketing job, but I digress.
I stayed on the line long enough to ask which of my accounts they were calling about. Not being able to give me a number, I told the caller, it's not a credit *what ever* company, they were a scam company, SCAM SCAM SCAM. He started yelling at me, I hung up! HA--- I pissed them off!
