Caller wants me to provide info about my credit cards so they can give me some deal on interest rates -- they say i "qualify" for this deal because of my payment history. Why would i want to discuss my credit cards with a stranger? This is a scam -- they don't know anything about me or my payments or even whether i have any credit cards.
I read these entries and keep seeing references to "Blocking" a number thinking, I guess, that would put an end to these low lifers calling. It doesn't. Blocking a call doesn't stop the calls. I've been logging scammer calls for the past two years now and have found they very seldom use the same number twice. I've gotten probably 20 calls from "card member services" advising me that I should "consider this to be my final call/warning". I don't think they've ever used the same number twice. Another thing I've discovered is blowing a whistle in the phone doesn't work anymore. Either a physical device or some software application has been installed on their end that will sense the whistle and squelch it before it blows their ear drums out. I've had 411 scammer calls since April, 2015 and that doesn't even include the political garbage I'd been subjected to. I'm sure many of you have had even more.
Called at 4:53pm. Diverted by a service I subscribe to that intercepts robo-dialed calls (rhymes with SoNoHobo). Since I read through the reports here — and the caller ID they used tipped me off that it was yet another credit card scam, I did not need to call back (*67) to see what I get.
