Same experience as the above posts. Introduced themselves as "Life Windows Help", said that without their help my computer can crash anytime since it's very likely it's got a virus. Sounded very unconvincing/fishy.
I have received several calls from this number. I played along today and pretended to click all of the links to help him help me. I don't even own a Windows system. He told me he was in Ottawa and that his name was something like Steve Grissom (maybe he watches CSI in India).
I am also reporting to my do not call list, but the number is probably a redirect from some place off shore or in Northern Michigan or Florida
I also received a strange phone call last saturday from Rex Dollan.He says he works for Quick my pc and and they are a technical operating system receiving on line error report. I was surprise to get that phone calls. He was difficult to understand since english is not my first language and he has an accent from India. He says since I was a Microsoft genuine users and I have a firewall leakage so my computer donload malicious file import prgram. He says I can loose all my data and he wants to help to fix the problem and block the passsage. Anyway I said I will call them back because I was too suspicious. I ask him where he was located and he gave me 99 th avenue Ottawa Ontario and can be reached at 1-206-201-2349
I just got a call as well in Ontario, Canada. He said that a virus was effecting my pc and that he was calling from Windows to help out. It was weird as he was laughing at first. Then he got serious and said that he was in Ottawa and gave me a number which I wrote down and then googled and came upon this site, which was good for me. I had no intentions of giving him any of my information, although he had my name. How can we catch these guys. I told him I was not interested in giving them my info and hung up.
My parents have received a couple of calls from this scam group. They say that their computer is full of viruses and they could help them fix it. The person that calls is hard to understand. My mom told them that they don't own a computer. Hopefully the calls will stop. I check the PC whenever I go over and have never had an issue with it. The PC is registered to me. Seems like this group is just calling people randomly.
