Well, they are still at it.  They called me today and said they were from Windows Live Help and his name was Steve Wilson.  Odd thing was that he was oriental and could barely speak English properly.  I had a heck of a time understanding him, except that he wanted me to sit down at my computer and give him access to show me which malicious virus that I can gotten.  He said my Norton 360 could not protect against it.  Yeah, like I'm born yesterday haha.  As soon as I told him I was calling back the number to check on him, he hung up.  Beware folk, not good people!

They called me today (unknown caller) and said they were from Windows Live Help. I asked him his phone number and why he was calling me. He said he is calling from 206-201-2349 and said he was from Ontario. There is no area code from Ontarion starting with 206.... The person i spoke with was oriental/indian and had a thick accent . After telling him i didn't have a computer he said it must be a wrong number. After my persistent requests of who he really was and what number he was calling from, he repeated the phone number twice and then hung up on me as I was asking questions of who he really was...Love these scam people, what idiots....BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE*****SCAM*****

I got a call saying that I won a government grant of 7500.00. I played along and gave him a fake card number. He told me to call this number back to confirm the funds in my account in 20-30 minutes. These people are hilarious and its sad that they are preying on people to still their hard earned money

My call was a lil different. I received a call from an unknown number which the person on the line said they were from a grant department with the u.s. government where I was selected among 1500 people to receive a grant for something about not having owed taxes for some time or something to that effect.really hard to understand.but after he was asking for information, I said that being the government with all my tax records available he should know whether or not I was employed and so on.but he told me to call the number he gave me earlier with my confirmation number to receive my grant...the number was 206-201-2349.

The rest of this post covers just about all scams commonly seen on 800notes, plus a few more.

Things to believe:

• There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.
• If it sounds (or looks) too good to be true, it probably is.
• You have not won big bucks from a benign benefactor, a pot of pesos from PCH, dinero from a doctor, or a grant from a gracious government
• The tooth fairy really does not exist
• Everything you read on the internet is not necessarily true.
• It is illegal to ask for money for a loan or prize, before awarding the loan or prize!
• "Free Trips" are loaded with mandatory & costly extras, and you usually must give them your card number after listening to a loooong spiel at a hotel.
• Microsoft or one of their agents did NOT cold call you to fix your computer.
• The moon is not made of green cheese.
• The IRS will snailmail you, rather than phone you, if there is a problem.
• Jackalope milk is not an aphrodisiac.
• If you "green dot", MoneyGram or Western Union money to a scammer, the money is gone.
• You should beware of Greeks bearing gifts, specially if the gift is a wooden horse with termites.
