Been recieving these calls consistently over the past week. The people ask for my boss and when I say he isn't in, they hurridly claim they are returning his call but then fail to leave a phone. I pulled the number from our caller ID - is read "SMS".
If they are really legitimate and returning a call, I need more info. Otherwise, I have to default to them being telemarketers.
GOT 2 CALLS TODAY. THE FIRST ONE ID'D HERSELF AS ASHLEY FROM ERIC DAVIS'S OFFICE. SHE ASKED FOR THE OWNER BY NAME. WHEN ASKED WHAT THIS WAS IN REGARD TO, HER REPLY WAS "A FOLLOWUP BUSINESS CALL". THE OWNER DIDN'T RECOGNIZE THE NAME AND DID *69 ON THE LINE AND GOT THE ABOVE NUMBER. HE LEFT THE CALL ON HOLD UNTIL THEY GAVE UP. THE SECOND CALL CAME IN AT 3:40. THE CALLER ID'D HERSELF AS SHAKIA, SHE SOUNDED REMARKABLY LIKE ASHLEY. WHEN PROBED FOR THE PURPOSE OF HER CALL, SHE JUST KEPT REPEATING ERIC DAVIS'S OFFICE. I ASKED WHAT TYPE OF COMPANY THEY WERE, SHE SAID MANUFACTURING. I ASKED IF SHE WAS SOLICITING, SHE SAID NO. I ASKED HER FOR HER PHONE NUMBER, SHE SAID THE PLACE WAS TOO BIG AND I'D NEVER GET BACK TO HER DIRECTLY. I ASKED FOR THEIR BUSINESS LICENSE NUMBER, SHE DIDN'T HAVE ACCESS TO IT. REFUSED TO GIVE AN ADDRESS. WHEN I TOLD HER IF SHE COULDN'T PROVIDE THIS INFORMATION, SHE NEEDS TO REMOVE OUR COMPANY FROM HER LIST. SHE INSISTED THAT SHE DIDN'T HAVE A LIST AND WOULD CALL BACK TOMORROW. I TOLD HER NOT TO NEVER CALL BACK. SHE JUST KEPT REPEATING, I'LL CALL BACK TOMORROW. I FINALLY HUNG UP ON HER.

A man identifying himself as "Dave Taylor" called our business asking for the Owner...would not answer what he's calling about...kept asking is owner even there...hung up on him...he called back...this time he knew the owner name...said he's working on a project...asked him again what the project is about and still wouldn't tell me...hung up on him again!
