They called and said they were from my Canadian bank and that my VISA card had been used for a $300 eBay purchase and an $1100 western union transfer. I could barely hear them because of static and thick accents. They asked me to go to my computer and press the Windows key, which was super suspicious. When I asked whether they could confirm that they were from my bank, they gave me a long scare tactic about how the RCMP has been notified and fraud is very serious and we don't want to alert the fraudster. They could only give me the first four digits of my card number, which is common knowledge for each bank. I found this very suspicious and they hung up on me.
Called at 7am , he said from the Fraud department , and my visa being used for 300 usd , I told him I don't have have the Visa card , and you are trying to scam me and I gonna call the pilice , then he hung up

My call was around 9 am, usually don't answer numbers I don't know but I was putting makeup on and was not wearing my glasses so couldn't see the number - a female with East Indian-type accent, said she was calling from Visa Security (thought she said Viva) asking if I had used my Visa on E-Bay, as someone had. Said no and put down the phone.. Later when I went into my account on line it said they had temporarily stopped access and I had to put in a new password so I wondered for a moment, if this could be legitimate after all, obviously not. I too am in Nova Scotia.
Called me two days in a row at 10 am, saying they were from the Visa security fraud department. My card was used at 3 am on e-bay to buy speakers. Again my card was used to send international funds through Western Union. Asked me if I loan my Visa debit card to anyone. I said no. I asked her what the card number was on the credit card. She corrected me and said it is a debit card. I then informed her I didn't have one. She said, oh, is this Rachel? I said no, wrong name. She said she was sorry and hung up. Her punjabis accent was so thick I could hardly understand her. Just a few minutes ago, got robot message from CRA tax fraud. Yet another scam. Left notation at that number too. Lots of people called with that rubbish too. I am in Ontario. Don't give any information to either one!!!!! They are FAKE!!!
