Automated caller. Pressed 9 to "lower my interest rates" according to them. Talked to the guy long enough to find out the name of the company is supposedly "One Source". Read him the riot act. Have been on the do not call list for years. Why were they allowed to call me? The problem with not answering is that they keep calling. Once I make contact the calls seem to stop.
call came June 17,09 at 10:17am. Automated will lower credit card. Hung up. Sure we will get numerous calls from this number. Annoying and we are also on the National DNC List. I have a few plans. I have a # to give them that someone suggested and I plan to use his technique just to keep them on line and annoy the hell out of them. His other suggestion was buy a good whistle get the live person and blow as loud as you can. He actually got a call back from the "supervisor" informing him that he could have injured the person, he suggested that that they should remove him from their list to prevent future injury. I like that strategy.
I am very angry about these calls. Maybe if we annoy them enough they won't call back!
Here is another strategy to use. This one is from Hink..
same thing, I get them all the time...I like to string them along until they get mad at me, can you imagine that...they get mad at me because I'm wasting THEIR time. This one was about credit and reducing interest. She said "if you don't mind can you tell me what your interest is?" I said "I like long walks on the beach, movies, sports, fishing" then she said "I meant on your cards" and I said "if you're calling you should know".
She then explained that this was serious business, I asked her if she knew how many federal laws she was breaking and she said "give me a break, you pushed 1" and hung up.
These call use to annoy me but then I realised that was letting them get to me so I turned the tables on them and have fun with them. After I go right to the ftc donotcall page and file a complaint but it doesn't help much.
Once I told a caller I was "an agent", I got another call back saying that I misrepresented who I was, they actually read my address back to me and told me impersonating a law enforcement agent was a federal crime and they were going to arrest me. I told the guy he was trying to steal identities and he wasn't doing anything. I did call my DA after that though.
I don't answer. These people are using "block calling" meaning they don't know who you are. They're automatically calling a block of numbers. It should be illegal. I am working on reporting a number of calls like this to the feds.
Random automated call offering me a "last chance" to lower my interest rate on my credit card - no identification as who they were or what credit card they are calling about - when I pressed "9" someone named Kim answered. When I asked who this was, she hung up. I called them back at the 305-000-4656 and they answered as some ... law office. I asked them why they were calling me about a credit card, and they said they didn't know what I was talking about, and denied any knowledge. SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!
