I received a call from A NAMELESS company that was identified on my Caller ID as "FLORIDA" and registered as (305) 368-8116 on 12/10/2015 at 12:54 P.M. CST. The caller identified himself as Kevin Brown (I doubt that was his real name; guy was clearly middle-eastern) when I asked for his name. He claimed to offer a lower interest rate but he could not give me the exact credit card company he was calling from, except that it was Visa/MasterCard and in order to give me this phenomenal offer (btw the credit cards I do have are at 0% int so his 6% was obviously a lie because he would have known that) and asked me to verify the expiration date and then he asked me to verify the middle 8-digits of my credit card number. It was public knowledge that MasterCard and Visa use the same 4-digits (some small variances but mostly the same) and anyone who obtains a sales ticket or a stolen credit report can see your last four digits--this is why this prick was asking for the expiration date and the middle 8-digits of my card. I gave him the wrong ones and he became irritated that I did not know the difference from a Visa/MasterCard (yeah, I wasted his time for trying to defraud me and kept him on the phone forever acting inept! LOL). PLEASE BE AWARE PEOPLE THIS IS DEF A FRAUDULENT CALL AND THEY ARE LOOKING TO STEAL YOUR IDENTITY.
Male with foreign accent states he with Microsoft & wanting to know if I am the primary operator of the computer in my home, records show that my computer has been comprised etc.
Recorded message, trying to sell me a credit card. I pressed 9 to get live operator, told her I was reporting them to the DoNotCall list, and hung up. My first step is always here, then my next step is to make the complaint at DNC, sending them to this page for back-up experience of others.
I just got the call from the same number. Once I answered, they hung up. Yeah, I usually tell them they are the same as a veneral disease (in explicit and graphic terms) on the butts of decent people and to get a real job. Then I hang up.
I figure that the more disagreeable I can make their job, the sooner they quit and cause another headache for the company who is behind this.
