I received a call from A NAMELESS company that was identified on my Caller ID as "FLORIDA" and registered as (305) 368-8116 on 12/10/2015 at 12:54 P.M. CST. The caller identified himself as Kevin Brown (I doubt that was his real name; guy was clearly middle-eastern) when I asked for his name. He claimed to offer a lower interest rate but he could not give me the exact credit card company he was calling from, except that it was Visa/MasterCard and in order to give me this phenomenal offer (btw the credit cards I do have are at 0% int so his 6% was obviously a lie because he would have known that) and asked me to verify the expiration date and then he asked me to verify the middle 8-digits of my credit card number. It was public knowledge that MasterCard and Visa use the same 4-digits (some small variances but mostly the same) and anyone who obtains a sales ticket or a stolen credit report can see your last four digits--this is why this prick was asking for the expiration date and the middle 8-digits of my card. I gave him the wrong ones and he became irritated that I did not know the difference from a Visa/MasterCard (yeah, I wasted his time for trying to defraud me and kept him on the phone forever acting inept! LOL). PLEASE BE AWARE PEOPLE THIS IS DEF A FRAUDULENT CALL AND THEY ARE LOOKING TO STEAL YOUR IDENTITY.
I agree that calls like these are annoying, but I really see no reason to be nasty to someone who is just doing what they're being paid to do to support themselves and/or their families.
These "card services" scam calls are not only annoying, but they are illegal. They are breaking the law when they call you and therefore as far as I'm concerned, the callers deserve any abuse they get.
Would you be nice to someone who broke into your home to rob you because they are just trying to "support themselves and/or their families"?
I hope you were just kidding, because if you weren't it sounds like you might be a potential victim of the drug-addicted "card services" scammers. This group of lowlifes calls us, pretending to be associated with various credit card companies and attempts to fool us into giving them our credit card numbers. When the scammers get a person's card number the unknowing victim can expect to see hundreds, if not thousands of dollars charged to it on their next statement. These scammers prey mainly on the elderly and the GULLIBLE in an attempt to get the funds to support their disgusting habits. BEWARE,and warn others before they are taken advantage of!
Just another one of the spoofed numbers used by the "card services" scammers. Google my name to learn how to stop their annoying calls, while also having some fun!
