Scammers for car ads. mostly like what people said. will ask about your "vehicle". and when someone used that word and not "car" you know they are weird and not from around here..I'm a car dealer and I get at least 10 of these a day and when business is slow I try to keep working them up and that I'm stupid and will pay them to ship my own car to them !!!!
the sad thing is people are falling for this stupid scam and that is why it is happening still and the police will not help you with it..
I also received the same text message last night at 3:49AM but told him I think I will close the deal with somebody else today. Glad to see everyone is taking the time to disclose this guy's scam.
Him: Hi, is your vehicle still available for sale?
Me: Yes I still have it up for sale
Him: Thanks for your response, Are you the first owner of the vehicle? Where do you located? How much is your last asking price?
Me: (Information about the vehicle)
Him: I'm Ok with the condition of the vehicle and your stated price. My shipper coming to inspect and test drive, signing title and changing of ownership will be done after payment is completed, Do you have PayPal?
Me: Sorry I'm only accepting cash
Him: Sorry I'm not comfortable for paying with any other method that is why I brought up this idea via PayPal is very easy and fastest way to pay online transaction
Me: Sorry cash is easiest and fastest way for me
I got the same texts, 10 minutes after listing my car online. He wanted to send money via paypal and have a shipper pick up the car. Told him cash and pick up only. Be careful out there people.
Well at least he gave up with some you other people. With me he threatened me. He said I was a thief and he was going to have me arrested. I knew it was a scam but gave him my empty paypal account information anyhow. He sent me fake confirmation of funds sent and it said they were pending til I went to Moneygram. He is persistant I finally got fed up and reported the number to my local police. Yeah I was stupid, but he was more stupid. Don't threaten things in text.
