I just posted my car a few hours ago on Cars.com and autotrader.com. I got a text asking if is was still available. Any text from an unknown number that starts with "Hi" is suspect to me.
Same as the rest posted my car on cars.com yesterday and got a txt at 4:00 AM asking (4:00 AM? EST is ~ 9:00 AM in Nigeria? Right?)
Scammer: Hi, is your vehicle still available for sale?
Me: Yes as it was just put up less than 24 hours ago on cars.com
The rest of the dialog is BS, my last text to scammer was something like this
Me: no you cant have my PayPal, I suggest you go and be fruitful and multiple with yourself (not my exact words)
Me: you live in a third world sxxxhole country and I live in America the beautiful
got a text message this morning interested in a car. didn't want to look at it (red flag), wanted to send a transporter(red flag), wanted to pay me via paypal (red flag). almost comical how stupid this is. you should never sell to anyone like this. even if they aren't a scam. don't be an idiot. I told the idiot that ive heard of scams like these and thanks for his interest anyways.
Thx for the heads up! Same experience except when he asked my price I said, "5 million trillion. Also, please feel free to s$&@ some camel balls.". Very professional of me. :)
