They call with 'No Caller ID' and then 'Unknown' for leaving a very rude voice mail.  He says "This call is for a **** F**** (my name)  I am calling from QRS.  I need to set up for a delivery of legal documents.  Apparently there was a refusal to sign for these on your behalf.  To avoid further legal issues,  you have 2 hours to call the firm that paid for our services.  The number is 323-210-8095.  This is in reference to complain # *** *** TX.  Again you need to call 323-210-8095 NOW"

These guys are a crock of [***], and what they are doing is illegal.  I know they will never be caught, but maybe I can keep someone from calling them back and giving them information, or worse yet, money.

I just got a call from this number...showed at 0 private number. Same as the post above calling about my daughter being sued. They wanted to know if someone was going to be home between 4 and 8pm so they could deliver papers then said if she didn't call back in 2 hours she would miss her court date and have to deal with a judge. They wanted her to call the 323-210-8095 number asap to avoid being sued. Had these calls for a week straight a couple years ago until I finally started screaming at them on the phone to take their scam elsewhere. Now it's started again.

Just received a call from the number 323-210-8095.  The guy was calling about my daughter-in-law being sued by somebody.  This person wanted to know if someone would be available between 4 and 8pm so they could deliver papers, then he said if she didn't call back within 2 hours she would miss her court date and have to deal with a judge.  He said he worked for a company, QRS, and to call the 323-210-8095 number.  I have had other calls before pertaining to the same subject matter, but not  from this number.  I realize this is a scam and wish it could be stopped.

Yes they call everyone but the intended victim in order to create panic and scare the victim into paying their extortion money.
This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this,  all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  One of the tricks they use is to call your work place repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying.  They also use the “process server” who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
