If you don't have Sprint telephone service, this call means that someone else has Sprint service in your name. I've been getting called from this number for a few months and ignoring it. Finally I answered. Turns out it's RMS Collection Agency and learned someone in Detroit has Sprint phone service in my name. RMS person was actually trying to be helpful when we both learned 'whats up'. Apparently this bill of over $1000 has been outstanding for the past 6 months.
I've received five, or six calls in the past week.
The first call was a woman looking for my son (Marine stationed in California). I explained very politely that he was deployed overseas and that I don't have an address, or phone number. I also asked NOT to receive any more calls as I am NOT responsible for any debts he incurs. I was assured I'd get no other calls.
Two days later, another phone call and another woman. This time, while still polite, I said he no longer lives here AND there's no way for me to contact him; please stop calling me. I was hung up on.
Two days ago, I was called AGAIN by a woman. This time, I asked for a supervisor. Instead of granting my request, the caller asked what the problem was and I replied by asking is she was a supervisor. "What's the problem," she asked. I replied that I'd asked to not be called and obviously I needed a supervisor to make this happen. Click ... she hung up.
I immediatly called back and after two minutes of calmly explaining what I wanted, I was given over to Supervisor Alan. I very calmly explained both the original story of my son serving overseas AND that I'd asked not to be called. Alan assured me it wouldn't happen again.
Guess what? LAST night, I get another call. I'm now no longer calm, cool, and collected: I very clearly and (regretfully) in an obsene manner, told D & B Receivables that (1) it's not my debt, (2) the debtor's whereabouts are unknown, and (3) to leave me alone. I clicked off the phone.
Earlier today, my wife answers the phone. Yet again, D & B Receivables is looking for my son.
they said RMS is the company but refused to tell me why they were calling for my Ex. She sounded disappointed when I told her to [***] when she said it was a 'confidential matter'.
Receive calls from this number three or four times a day. There is no response when I answer. Today, I called them twice and asked why they were calling. The first person hung up. I called again and was asked if I was so and so, (didn't catch the name, but it wasn't me) I responded that I was not that person. They then hung up. I have reported these calls to the telephone company and requested they be blocked.
These jerks have been calling for months several times a week if not more. I have lost count. I figured out they are a collection agency afte my son who has not lived with us for more than a year. If this isn't harrassment I don't know what is!
