This number is a scam for some alien country, I spoke for a person with very strong European or Arabian spelling, they ask me for pay in order to unblock my safari. I can't bel4eavew it, I don't know how to fix it.
I was browsing some web images of plants and the "http;//mac-alert9.com Security Error. Call helpline 1-647-360-4454" and second Safari message "http://app.macoscleaner.com Your Macbook may have (3) Porn Virus!" popped up and I can't get out of the messages. I called the number and the Indian-accented man from "Support" answered, but I hung up. A number listed from Atlanta, GA called immediately, but when I answered and no one responded I hung up. Then another number (445) area code called again and it was an Indian-accented man from "Support" again. I told him I would call back.
Indian phone scammers at their best=useless. I have been calling/trolling them pretty much non stop for the last two days. It's been great fun and it waists their time, hopefully giving them less time to scam other victims.
One of our phone calls went like this...
Scamer: Hello this is microsoft tech support bla bla bla. What were you doing when you had the problem
Me: I was looking at gay porn
Scamer: Chuckles Convo goes on... Please go to www.teamviewer.com and download our program (so they can try to access my computer)
Me: I went to teen viewer like you said but its just another porn site. It was a horrible site, you shouldn't go there.
(The troll went on for another 40 minutes where I shameless hit on them. They said they were local so I asked them for a date. Sadly they declined :( I will call back again...and again...and again. I'm streaming the auto live from a teampspeak server for anyone that wants a good laugh :)
I found that I force quit Safari, disconnect from the Internet, start Safari - and as soon as the window or tab appears CLOSE IT! Has worked the last few times.
That's some pretty funny trolling of criminals - 'teenviewer!'
Everyone should understand, by the way, that TeamViewer (www.TeamViewer <dot> com) IS NOT MALICIOUS SOFTWARE! It is a widely used, legitimate business support tool that allows a connection to your computer for remote support.
Just don't let any strangers talk you into letting them connect with your computer. At work, your supervisor will tell you who is allowed to connect with computers.
