That's right! Resident47 understands exactly what is going down. They are scammers and they have no respect for the law or for anyone. Their bottom line is to clear out your bank account and to do any other nasty thing(s) they can succeed in doing. They probably smile while cheating their own grandma. Just don't answer phone calls that you do not recognize.
This 718-258-9053 called my cell at 4:00 pm today. It's getting to where I don't even concern myself when I hear my cell ringing from another room as scammers call at the minimum of twice daily. When I finally did check my phone today, I did not recognize ithe phone number as being associated with anyone I know (& if I did ... guess what .... that can be spoofed too). I don't respond to numbers I do not recognize ... and, if they leave a message .... if I do not know them I do not call them back. If I have questions regarding any credit card, I only call the number listed on the back of the credit card. Lol .... my Mother was pretty much on the money when she told me NOT to talk to strangers. Let's just put it this way: You never really know who you are talking to if they called you and you picked up the phone. They can fabricate any type of story and tell you that they are the Queen of England.
I don't bock calls like these. I have several contacts on phone, add numbers like this, then set "send calls to voicemail" Surprisingly enough, not very many leave message and very few call backs.
