Called while I was on another call but I didn't click over. I have the entire 718 area code blocked due to many nuisance calls from this area code. I too have received other calls from 718-362-6024..
I keep getting calls from 718-362-8024 but no one ever says anything. And the v322...number I received a little while ago. Thank you to point out that both these numbers are related to each other. No one ever says anything so I don't know the point in why they're calling. Maybe as another person said, they want you to call the number back. I certainly will not do that.
Folks, the DNC list is a formality. Without it you cannot claim illegal activity. But does that mean these calls will stop?... well no, and yes. As part of the formality when you receive an illegal call you have to report it. Does that do anything on an individual basis, for you personally? Absolutely not! What it does do is go into a database where the government looks at patterns. The government is not going to go chase after that one guy that made one illegal call to you. They are going to look at all of the reports and find that one guy that’s bugging the crap out of 10,000 people. They quite purposely look for the biggest fish because those are the ones where you get the greatest value in terms of fines and termination of their activities. Are they going to clear that up in a week? Absolutely not, these things can actually take years because of all of the investigation it takes to unmask the people behind the spoofed CID #, and laundered through foreign holding companies. There is a lot of legal process as well in order to unwind the tangled mess these people create to make holding them responsible possible. The government really does aggressively prosecute these people. But it very definitely is a game of whack-a-mole.
