A woman named Teresa called my work saying she was from the federal goverment and wanted to speak to a person that I work with. She left the number 800-609-0274 to call. I called that number and a prerecorded message said the call is being recorded. The call then switched to separate woman. I asked her the name of the company and she said Pioneer. I asked what kind of company they are and she said that they "do several things". On the caller id, New York Call showed up. That's about it.
I don't get calls every day, but I do get them every week. My loans are deferred due to disability-so why is a credit agency calling me??? Doesn't this violate my rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act?
These people called me at 8:21 am on Sunday! They just called again at 8:15 am! I told them that I do not accept calls before either 9am or several cups of coffee--and then I hung up.
Will blocking their number from your phone work? I must try that......
They call every day. I've read that they represent Sallie Mae as a collection agency. Sallie Mae drafts money out of our bank account every month, so these people have no business calling us.
