Found the following on our answering machine, and assume it was either a recording, or someone so dedicated to reading her script that she couldn't wait for the beep:
" . . . in regards to the enforcement action that has been started against your name. My number is 718-819-7702. I repeat it's 718-819-7702. If for any reason you are delay to call back, I would suggest you to have your retained attorney do it for you, as delaying calling us might end up into a legal mess for you. I hope you will take this right and call me right back. This is Leslie Owens with the Department of Legal Affairs looking forward to speak with you. Until then, have a blessed day. Bye."
Its a scam. If you had answered the call the caller would have given you a chance to buy you way out of trouble. But you have to do it right this minute by giving them your bank account number or credit card number. Congratulations on outsmarting them.
I heard the same message and thought I should "Google" it before calling back. I'm glad I did. I found it funny that she said "against your name". It sounded like she was supposed to insert an actual name there. Thank you for your posts.
