Bye." except the caller says (in a heavily Hispanic accent?) "This is Leslie Owens of the Dept. of Legal affairs" Ridiculous...just finally stopped getting calls from some other scumbag that said they had our social security info sitting on a desk and we needed to call because some weird legal action was being taken against us. Come on people! Can't you think of something more original, entertaining or enlightening.? Geez. Have a blessed day? What lawyer or government agency would ever tell you that if it was legit??!! lol.
Same message as Dr. D, called back, refused to provide any IRS file number and cut off my call. Refused to provide file number when I called her back and said just to have my criminal attorney call this number. I will be arrested for 3 violations I have not responded to but she refused to re-read the violations to me. Msg was from Leslie Owens, actual person who answered the phone was someone named Ruth.
She called us today using the name Joy Elwell same script as Dr.D, said they left on their answering machine. It's a scam just too fishy sounding. I erased the message.
I got the same call this morning and I answered the phone. I listened to the message and then hung up. I knew it was a scam because of her wording. I googled it and found this message. How do you keep them from calling you?
