Wow. I'm a Madison member. It's not a scam folks. In fact, I've gotten quite a bit of business. They HAND you their complete database. All you have to do is plug in a username and password and search their members in a variety of ways. If you don't want to work the list and be strategic, don't bother signing up. And when I called and spoke with Bill in the networking department, he worked with me and sent me a customized list of their members based on their physical locations and their executive titles. With my membership, I also got a vacation package -- 4 roundtrip tickets to various destinations. You can give them to anyone you want -- I'm donating a pair to my favorite charity. They're raffling them off, I get to look like a star, and I still get to use a pair for myself. Scam? I'm thinking some people just don't want to invest and don't want to work it. That's a shame. It's a great resource for me. And I've talked to the owner personally. I mean, I invested $289 for 2 years and I have more than 25 clients from their membership. Just work the list. It's an easy stream of income.
I received a call from a 'Timothy Anderson' at 8am on CHRISTMAS EVE!! The idiot woke me up on my vacation and wanted to do some bulls**t interview because I had only a 'partial bio' and he wanted to publish my information in the upcoming edition of Madison Who's Who. I told him to get a clue and call me back at a REASONABLE hour after the holidays and proceeded to forget about it. I got a call today from the same guy and he buttered me up real good. Got me super excited to be a part of this seemingly really great publication. Tells me about the plane tickets to over 35 destinations and tells me I sound like a really great candidate (even though I'm a senior in college...). Then he drops the bomb: you are eligible for a lifetime membership with a one time fee of $798. EXCUUUUUUUSE ME?!?! I flat out laughed in his face! Are you kidding me?! I am a broke college student! I make about $175 every 2 WEEKS! Give me a break man. I tell him all this and then he keeps bringing down the price. $598, $298, $99, $19.95. I ask him how they even got my information and he gives me some crap story about who COULD HAVE submitted my name, but not solid reference. I then tell him that if I am going to pay them, I want to be sent a bill in the mail because I'm not giving my information over the phone. He tells me they are going to send me a complete invoice detailing everything. Great I say. But he doesn't get it and asks for my expiration number on my credit card. I tell him I don't have it and that is why I wanted them to mail the bill to me. Let's see if he calls me back tomorrow to get my credit card information!
Trying to scam a broke college student...what kind of a sick and twisted 'man' could live with himself?! What if I had actually fallen for it?!
I answered an ad for "sales people" and received a call the day they got my resume. I interviewed with a nice enough seeming young woman Jennifer the head of HR there. She hired me and I started training on Monday. During the interview I was told "we will have you call people who have already filled out a form saying they are interested. Basically you will be basically just sorting out the details with them." Sounded good so far, I needed work...On the first day of training I noticed it was a high pitched sales training with a script that was detailed and we only covered the first few pages the "interview". Sounded ok but it was typed on paper and the "rebuttals" were push-pinned on a cork board, but I thought perhaps it was that way only for training. No it is that way on the floor too, the system is not computerized. In the training room is a copy of their book from a few years past. Quickly thumbing through it, it didn't seem quite right. Then I started to hear some very intentionally misleading statements in the things we were to say and what they were saying. The numbers they were saying and showing were inconsistent too. The calls were basically cold calls and I was outright lied to about the "filled out the application" thing. You are told, if you ask while you are being asked the preliminary questions, that there is no cost. Then later when you are told a cost and if you ask about that, you are scripted to tell them that there is no cost for a "basic listing" but the "XXX" package is much better. Jennifer blatantly told the class today that there IS NO BASIC MEMBERSHIP it is a total, purposeful lie. "But", she continued, "unless they sign up they cannot get past the first page of the web site so there is no way for them to ever find that out". I will not get paid for three weeks??!!?? All Credit Cards are processed by one person, like I said there are no computers at the work stations. When I asked about gathering the person's information it was treated like the least important thing in the world. Oh ya that, well you can just write it down on a note pad or something. They had no concern whatsoever for that sort of information. We will not be able to view the information on the company's web site either. They no longer publish the books they are now sent out on CD ROM to the people. So here is a networking site, that is now internet based that has no computers in its office?
Then to top it off...I will be paid with a 1099 instead of a w-2. Now that makes me an independent contractor and not an employee making them not so directly responsible for my actions and me much more personally responsible for them.

TO BE COMPLETELY HONEST I WORKED THERE AND I AM NOW FILING CHARGES AGAINST THIS COMPANY. NOT ONLY DO THEY LIE TO THE MEMBERS AND POTENTIAL MEMBERS THE LIE TO THE EMPLOYEES. IT STARTS RIGHT FROM THE ADD TO HIRE YOU, THEN THE CALL BACK FOR INTERVIEW, THE INTERVIEW IS A LIE WHEN YOU SPEAK TO JENNIFER LAPIDUS THE DIRECTOR OVER HUMAN RESOURCES WHO USE TO WORK AT ANOTHER WHO'S WHO, THEN IN TRAINING WHERE IT IS CLEAR SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT WHEN YOU READ THE SCRIPT AND THE WAY THEY WANT YOU TO DROP. IT'S OBVIOUS THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE INTEREST OF THESE PROFESSIONALS. THEY TELL YOU IN RANDOM MEETINGS OH DONT BE FOOLED THEY HAVE THE MONEY YOU NEED TO GET THE CC#... MY HEART WAS HURTING EVERYDAY I WENT TO THAT PLACE. I HATED IT. I FELT SO BAD AND BECAUSE OF THAT I MADE NO SALE. I COULD NOT TAKE THE LIES SO I LEFT. BUT NOT AFTER I WATCHED SEVERAL EMPLOYEES COMPLAIN ABOUT THEIR CHECK BEING SHORT ANOTHER PERSON WHO WAS ONLY THERE BECAUSE SHE DID NOT WANT TO BE HOMELESS WITH HER AND HER CHILD. YOU CAN NOT HAVE A SICK DAY. THEY WILL SELL YOU A MEMBERSHIP THE A FEW WEEKS OR MONTH LATER TELL YOU YOU ARE THE MAN OR WOMAN OF THE YEAR ..... BUT YET YOU MUST PAY FOR YOU AWARD ...... HOW CRAZY IS THAT. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS PLACE. DON'T BE MAD AT ALL THE EMPLOYEES IF YOU SPEAK TO MAJORITY OF THEM THEY WOULD TELL YOU THEY DONT WANT TO BE THERE BUT THE ECONOMY IS BAD. SORRY FOR THE ONES WHO GOT SCAMMED AND THE EMPLOYEES THAT CAN'T LEAVE DUE TO LOW JOB RECRUITING... THE NEWS WILL BE THERE SOON AND I PLAN ON LETTING THE WORLD KNOW IT'S JUST NOT RIGHT. AND THE JENNIFER THAT EVERY ONE IS SPEAKING OF IS JUST THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD
I received a call from above number asking that I would be includes in International Whoe's Who directory . She the caller told me her name "Amirah Watson" and asked me to take membership for 700USD ,demanded my Master Card No,claims that she is authorised and transaction secured.I did not yield smelling Scam.Do not respond that what I feel.
