So exactly what law are you referring to that specifies when debt is "too old to legally collect"? Because I know of no such law. I do know that there is a law called the statute of limitations which prevents them from suing you, but does nothing about telling them that they have to stop collecting, with the exception of Wisconsin and Mississippi where collection activity must also cease.
Receieved a call from this number Blocked by my Mr Number, Some guy who did not identify himself went on about two complaints and they would be looking for me at my place of business and or home. Call the 740 number back no answer, then called the number left in the voice mail got a recording stating that number is not set up to take incoming calls. Sounds like a scam to me.
two missed calls from same number, telling me to call another number that is not set up to take calls. have to admit that their threatening tone, had me thinking back to when I may have aquire a debt that I didn't not pay. Maybe some medical bill. the messages dI'd not give a criditor name, or name of their company. only referenced a file number and threatened to pursue me at work and home. and that 2 charges were filed. I feel it was a scam attemp, but am not sure. thanks for all the info guys.
We received a phone call as well. They leave no name, no company name filing the complaint and threaten to arrest you if you do not return phone call. Things like this should be illegal and it's frustrating they call this serving you papers lol.
