I just got called with this number and they wanted to confirm personal information (including BD) before proceeding.
This was a scam!
They said it was a curtsy call
Received a voicemail from this number today. The man claimed he was calling about recent usage of my Macy's credit card. He said to return the call and have my account number ready. I hardly think so. Idiots!
called today said they were from Macy's and my card was used in Rockville at Safeway, man was way to vague and wanted my credit information asked me if my card was stolen. when I asked him for more information about him calling, he got confused and real vague.. I told him I would call Macy's credit and inquire about my acct. Don't give out any personal or credit card information, this is a scam!! Not true what he told me about my acct. Phishing scam to get your info and then can do real damage.
I got a call, they said Macy's Amex Fraud from credit card services. They noticed unusual transactions and blocked them. I Google'd this 740-834-4000 number and saw citi, mortgage, debt collector as callers. I thought it must be a scam so will call number on back of credit card to confirm. Gave out no personal information as you never know who actually is calling in to you. Better to call them back at a verifiable number and be safe instead of sorry. Macy's Fraud department confirmed the original call. Still seemed like a scam due to the very poor customer service reps who had no knowledge of what I was talking about and took 40 mins before they transferred me to credit services / fraud dept to confirm what was going on and that a new card would be issued. Gee-sh!!!
