Go a call about an applicant being approved for radio shack and that it was approved. When he asked for my personal info I hung up....I think it's a scam input a fraud alert on my report.
Got a call from 1740 8344000 stating someone was opening a credit card at best buys in my name...then gives the 800 # to verify???called the number and the woman wanted my ss# to close the account...Scam!
DO NOT GIVE them any private info it is a SCAM...
Got a call from this number (came up as Delaware, OH on call history), was told to call Citi Cards at 800-950-5114. Those people asked for my SS#....I didn't give it to them. They claim they don't have a Delaware, OH office. I don't have a Citi Card. Has to be a phishing scheme. Beware!
The call is from Citi (bank/card). Called regarding a recent customer satisfaction survey I recently submitted and wanted to get some additional information. Seems legit.
I received a call this evening and tracked it down. 1-740-834-4000 is a valid number for CitiBank and it's services. If you call that number (at least after hours) you will be directed to 1-800-950-5114. This is also a valid number. In my case, it was a response to an inquiry I had made. If you are in doubt, call 1-800-423-4343, their published Customer Service number.
